OUR NYC PET SITTING SERVICES
Katie’s Kitty provides the following types of pet care in New York City:
- Cat sitting in your home
- Cat boarding in our private host homes
- Care of exotic pets in your home or ours
You will meet with your pet sitter before the first assignment to discuss your pet’s needs, such as food, medication, exercise, playtime, etc. and tailor the services to you and your pet’s needs. We observe all dietary and health requirements. We provide frequent updates to ensure you feel comfortable while you are away from your loved one.
Cat Sitting in Your Home
This option is available for pet owners who would rather have their cat stay in their own home. Our pet sitters will visit your home daily to provide care and comfort to your pet.
Visits include the following:
- 30 minutes at your home (45-minute and 60-minute visits are available upon request).
- Litter box scooping
- Cleaning and filling water bowls
- Feeding your pets
- Plenty of love and affection
- Special instructions will be followed (giving medication, turning lights off/on, etc.)
Cat Boarding
We have a network of private pet boarder homes across New York City and will match your pet with the perfect host home. Your cat will stay in our pet boarder’s home and receive care and affection while you’re away.
We offer a unique and incomparable boarding service through our host homes. We are dedicated to the happiness and well-being of the cats we care for and offer individualized attention that far surpasses what’s offered in a traditional kennel. Our homes offer specialized care for the unique needs of your pet. Cats that are very young, elderly, or frail will receive experienced, personalized, and loving care.
Our host homes are a great alternative to kennels. Your cat will have free run of the home and bed privileges. Most of our pet boarders work from home, ensuring round the clock supervision for your cat. All sitters and boarders are bonded and insured.
Every home is available to be seen by appointment before you make your decision. We encourage you to visit the home where your cat will be staying so that you and the pet boarder can become acquainted before arrangements are finalized.
In most cases, your cat will be the only animal in the home. A few of our pet boarders have their own cat or dog, and in those instances, we disclose that to you prior to making arrangements.
- We will feed your pet according to his or her schedule, with the food you normally feed (we ask that you bring enough food to last while you’re away).
- We do not use cages.
- All of our boarders’ homes are pet safe, with screens on all windows.
Care of Exotic Pets
We currently have two pet sitters/boarders with experience in exotic pet care.
Melanie (in the East 14th Street area of Manhattan) has extensive experience with hamsters, gerbils, Guinea pigs, rabbits, hedgehogs, sugar gliders, ferrets, and birds. She’s also highly experienced with lizards (including but not limited to bearded dragons, geckos, iguanas, skinks, monitors, and anoles), as well as snakes, tortoises, turtles, and frogs. For boarding at her home, she generally limits it to reptiles and amphibians.
For home visits, the area she can cover spans from as far south as East Houston Street, as far north as East 28th Street, as far east as Avenue C, and as far west as Fifth Avenue.
Nida (in the Williamsburg area of Brooklyn) has extensive experience with Guinea pigs and rabbits. She’s also fully comfortable with hamsters, gerbils, mice, and rats. For home visits, the areas she can cover include Williamsburg, Bushwick, and Greenpoint.
Our Rates
All services are customized to meet your requirements and rates are based on a variety of factors. This includes the type of service required, duration of the stay, and the needs of the individual animal. We offer discounts for boarding stays longer than 30 days.
